What is GDPR?

On the 25th May 2018, new data protection regulations come into effect within the EU.
These new regulations, named General Data Protection Regulation, is focussed on protecting personal data, and giving control back to the data subjects themselves.

What are MASTA doing for GDPR?

Here at MASTA, we are proud to say that we already adhere to many of the policies and practices set out by GDPR.

The protection of ours and our customers information is always foremost in our thinking and our processes. The changes coming into force with GDPR, such as consent, encryption and data access controls, all go towards reinforcing our existing belief that protecting your data is a top priority!

Below is a list of just some of the things MASTA are doing to make sure we comply with GDPR:

  • Updating our Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy, to ensure that our customers and partners know how their data is used
  • Making sure that consent is given explicitly, and never assumed
  • Improving the encryption and security of data storage and communication
  • Only storing information which is relevant to the services we provide
  • Giving our clients more control of their own data
This list is by no means exhaustive, and MASTA are constantly working to improve our data protection processes.

What does all this mean to MASTA and our customers?

While MASTA has always prioritised data protection throughout everything we do, what GDPR means is that data protection should be much clearer and more transparent in the future, which makes things easier for our clients and customers.
