We will post you a test kit, then have a videocall with you via Microsoft Teams to help you take your test
Once your test has been witnessed, we will issue your certificate within 1 hour if negative this will enable you to:
- board your flight back to England or
- depart from England to your destination.

MASTA is pleased to offer In-clinic COVID-19 PCR Swab Tests in many of our clinics nationwide.
You will visit a MASTA clinic, where nurse or a pharmacist will take a swab sample from your throat and nose.
The sample will undergo laboratory analysis for detection of the live coronavirus indicating a current infection.

Return to work & international travel regulations are changing rapidly, please ensure you check with your employer, airline and the Foreign Common Office website.

How Does the Coronavirus PCR Test In-Clinic Work?
A MASTA clinician will take your throat and nose swab sample in-clinic during an appointment.
Your swab sample will be sent to our laboratory to identify whether the COVID-19 virus is present. A positive test will indicate that you are currently infected with COVID-19.
Please note that due to post office cut off times, on occasions patients may be asked to post their own cv19 test samples
Where can I access this test and how do I book?
In-clinic coronavirus PCR swab test in-clinic is currently available at our MASTA clinics nationwide.

How and when do I obtain my results and certificate?
Once your test is booked, you should attend the clinic at your designated appointment time where the clinician will carry out the swab test. You will usually receive your results within 2-3 working days after our partner lab receives your sample (but it could take longer).
Once your results are ready we will send these to you in a secure email. You will need a password to access your results.
If you require a test [and certificate] for a flight, we would recommend that you book your test well ahead of time. It is your responsibility to check the travel requirements of the airline and country you are travelling to, as well as to ensure your results are received in the time frame required by the airline and country].
Can I use this PCR test to help me with international travel and return to work?
Yes – You may also be able to use this test as a means of supporting entry to another country or for return to work purposes.
Different countries and employers have different regulations, and these regulations are changing rapidly. You must check with your employer, insurer and airline as to their individual & specific constraints around travel & COVID-19 testing. This certificate helps to support the validity of your test result.

Antigen Test
An Antigen Test is a rapid test that detects for the presence of proteins (or antigens) made by the COVID-19 virus, meaning potentially you could see results from Day 1 of infection. The Antigen Test does not require laboratory analysis. Also known as Lateral Flow Test.
Our 15-Minute Antigen Test Kit, supplied by Healgen, has been assessed and passed by Public Health England.
Can I use the rapid antigen test to help me with international travel and return to work?
Yes – You may also be able to use this test as a means of supporting entry to another country or for return to work purposes.
Please note that this rapid antigen test is not accepted for all of destinations, please check the Foreign Common Office website for entry requirements

Supervised video call Rapid COVID-19 Antigen test - £29.99 per person
Please ensure you read and understand the following important information:
When can I use this service?
Antigen tests or Lateral flow tests are accepted to enter some countries when travelling from the UK but also required when you travel back to England, within 72 hours from travelling.
How does the process work?
You are now able to carry out your antigen test at the location of your convenience here in the UK or in your destination abroad.
MASTA can post you a kit, which you can use before your trip date, or you can pack in your case and take away with you.
On the date of your appointment, a MASTA healthcare professional will send out a link for you to join the video call (You must have access to Microsoft Teams or a web browser and your emails for the video link). We will guide you through taking the test and witness the results.
Once your negative test has been witnessed, we will issue your certificate within 30-60 minutes to enable you to board to your destination country or your flight back to England.
This method takes away the stress of finding a test centre here in England or in the country, you are travelling to
Make sure you book your test in good time to allow postage of your tests before you travel. We need a minimum of 10 days before your departure date.

What happens if I don’t have internet connection?
We will be unable supervise your test and therefore you must find an alternative test centre to carry out your test.
What happens if I do not receive my kit?.
We recommend you to order the kits at least 10 business days before travelling, you must let us know (via our Customer service team) at least 3 working days before travelling from England that you have not received the kit, so we can repost it to you.

What happens if my test is positive?
You must quarantine according to the legal requirements in the country you are at
What if my loose or damage my kit whilst I am abroad?
You must find an alternative test centre to carry out your test.
How will I receive my results?
You will receive your results via email. We will not be able to provide your results if you do not have a working email address.

What do I need to bring to my test?
Please bring the following information to your appointment:
- Passport
- Covid-19 vaccination status
- Travel Information (including flight number / train number, dates)
- Unique reference number
- Isolation address
What type of test will this be?
This will be a PCR Test. A MASTA Clinician will take your nose and throat swab in-clinic during an appointment. Your swab sample will be sent to our laboratory to identify whether the COVID-19 virus is present.
A Positive test will mean you are currently infected with COVID-19
When should I take my day 2 test?
You must take the test between day 0 and day 2 of your arrival to England with the day you arrive into the UK counting as day 0.
For example, if you arrived into the UK on the 1st of April, you could test on or before the 3rd April.
When will I receive my result?
You will receive your results within 2 working days of your sample being received at the laboratory.
Do I have to quarantine when returning from a country not listed as red by the government?
You must self-isolate until you receive your test result. If your result is negative, you do not need to self-isolate. If your result is positive, you must continue to self-isolate for a further 10 days. The day of the test is day 0.
Do my children need to book a day 2 test?
Children aged 4 years and under do not need to take a Day 2 test. Children aged 5 to 17 must take a Day 2. Please refer to government guidelines here for the latest advice.

This will be PCR test. A MASTA clinician will take your throat and nose swab sample in-clinic during an appointment.

When should I take my day 2 and day 8 test?
You must take the first test between day 0 and day 2 of your quarantine period, with the day you arrive into the UK counting as day 0. You must take the second test on or after day 8 of arriving into the UK.
For example, if you arrived into the UK on the 1st of April, you could test on or before the 3rd April for your day 2 test, and on or after the 9th April for your day 8 test.
When will I receive my result?
You will receive your results within 72-96 hours of your sample being received at the laboratory.
Can I be released early (reduce self-isolation) with the day 2 and day 8 test?
No, if you would like to be released early from quarantine you can opt into the government’s Test-to-Release scheme.
Do my children need to book a day 2 and day 8 test?
Children aged 4 years and under do not need to take any COVID-19 travel tests. Children aged 5 to 17 must take a Day 2 test but a Day 8 test is NOT required. Please refer to government guidelines here for the latest advice.
